THE TEAM

Emma Insley

FOUNDER & LEAD CONSULTANT

Emma is unwavering in her commitment to helping organisations measure and demonstrate their impact in a sustainable way. She is recognised as a thought-leader and known by some as the Queen of Impact!

She brings three decades of experience and know-how from the non-profit sector.  As a successful CEO, she led the turnaround of two struggling charities, guiding them from near-insolvency to financial stability and sustained impact. She’s also been a Fundraiser and Grants Assessor, so she has a strong understanding of what evidence funders seek to make informed decisions.

Emma knows how challenging and isolating charity leadership can be; she is a listening ear, working with you to navigate complex team dynamics and operational challenges.

Since establishing Insley Consulting in 2010, she has helped dozens of charities to increase their impact – helping them to focus their resources, develop life-changing services and increase their funding.

Megan Stephenson

EVALUATION DATA OFFICER

Megan is passionate about using data to drive meaningful social change.

She brings a wealth of experience in data analysis to Insley Consulting, where she specialises in creating dynamic impact dashboards and conducting detailed data analysis to support our clients’ monitoring and evaluation needs.

Before joining Insley Consulting, Megan was a Research Assistant and completed an MSc in Genes, Environment, and Development in Psychology and Psychiatry, gaining advanced skills in data analysis, statistics, and visualisation using tools such as R and Python.

She also developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by people struggling with mental health, as a Wellbeing Worker for Oxfordshire Mind and Support Worker for Making Space.

Since joining Insley Consulting, Megan has supported several charities to get a better understanding of their impact by creating engaging data dashboards and infographics – enabling them to better communicate the difference they make to a wide range of audiences.

Joana Caldeira Martinho

ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT

Joana is passionate about supporting organisations to improve their impact and sustainability, through facilitation, training and mentorship.

She has 15 years’ experience working with organisations and projects with social aims, in the UK and Portugal – and seeks to work in an inclusive, feminist and trauma-informed way. At Insley Consulting, she supports organisations to plan and embed impact measurement and delivers qualitative research.

As a consultant, Joana has evaluated the social impact of projects, designed and implemented capacity-building interventions, facilitated participatory processes and assessed organisational performance.

Previously based in the UK, Joana worked in fundraising, communications and advocacy at Oxfam and the University of Oxford’s fundraising campaign, as well as frontline support to survivors of sexual violence at the Oxfordshire Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre and NEET young people at the Prince’s Trust. She has a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Porto and completed Business Management training at Porto Business School.

Joanne Manville

Joanne is an award-winning virtual assistant who been supporting Insley Consulting since 2019.

Organised and wholeheartedly committed to our work, Joanne keeps projects on track, coordinates schedules, arranges presentations, and writes session notes. Her team also supports Insley Consulting’s marketing and communications.
